Getting started
Install
Connect your coding agents with one command, or add Vibefilo by hand.
Run the installer in your project folder. It needs Node 20.12 or newer. It detects your agents, shows every change before writing it, and backs up any config file it edits.
Terminal
npx @vibefilo/mcp init
What init does
- Detects Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Codex.
- Writes the MCP server entry into each agent's config, with a
.vibefilo-backupcopy of the original. - Creates
.vibefilo.jsonin the folder and addsvibefilo-scans/to.gitignore.
Options
- --yes
- Apply without prompts to the agents it detects.
- --agent <ids...>
- Set up only these agents: claude-code, cursor, vscode, windsurf, codex.
- --local
- Point agents at a local build instead of npx, for development.
Add it by hand
If you prefer not to run the installer, add the server to one agent yourself:
Claude Code
Run in your project folder.
claude mcp add vibefilo -- npx -y @vibefilo/mcp
Cursor
Add to .cursor/mcp.json in your project.
{ "mcpServers": { "vibefilo": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@vibefilo/mcp"] } } }Codex
Run in any terminal.
codex mcp add vibefilo -- npx -y @vibefilo/mcp
Windsurf
Add to ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.
{ "mcpServers": { "vibefilo": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@vibefilo/mcp"] } } }VS Code
Run in any terminal.
code --add-mcp '{"name":"vibefilo","command":"npx","args":["-y","@vibefilo/mcp"]}'Uninstall
Remove Vibefilo from every agent config it wrote and restore the backups:
Terminal
npx @vibefilo/mcp uninstall
